Matt and Jennifer’s day was so much fun! SO MUCH FUN! From the moment Jake and I stepped into Jennifer’s bridal suite at the Hyatt Place in Virginia Beach there was laughter filling the room. So much laughter! We were joining in on the laughter. Actually, the entire day was full of joy, laughter and a lot of “you’re stepping on my dress” moments. That’s an inside joke for those of you that are actually reading this.
As Virginia Beach wedding photographers we couldn’t be more thankful for bride and grooms like Matt and Jennifer. The kind that make our jobs so easy and more enjoyable. Jennifer is probably one of the most down to earth people I’ve ever met. She makes you feel comfortable because she is just herself. I teased her during her and Matt’s cake cutting because she literally shoved a full slice of cake into her mouth instead of being delicate and breaking a piece off. I loved it! I loved that she did exactly what someone like me would really want to do on my wedding day. Eat the cake by the pieces! Haha! But seriously I would and it really is the only reason I am a wedding photographer. The cake y’all! You’ll find me at the cake table.
But seriously, all joking aside, Matt and Jennifer are the sweetest and funnest couple. Jennifer sweet with a little gangsta in her. Whatever that means! And Matt quiet, kind and absolutely adores Jennifer’s craziness. He doesn’t even have to say a word you can just see it all over her face.
These two actually got married at the Moca or the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Arts which is tucked away off of interstate 64 on your way towards Virginia Beach. It was a perfect spot for these two. The main atrium is full of indoor trees with stringed lights. Truly a romantic reception area.
Shaw (with Astro DJ’s wedding planning services) and her team did a phenomenal job keeping everything organized. Matt even mentioned how she reminded him of Jennifer. I guess Jennifer keeps everything OCD level organized in the garage.
I am trying to think what my favorite moments of Matt and Jennifer’s day were. Not that I am having a hard time, but as I ponder through each moment of the day I think I loved most the moments I got to talk with Jennifer. Just hearing about how she became a Physicians Assistant and then meeting her co-workers and talking about her over dinner. I loved watching her just be herself and enjoy her moment as a bride.
And I really really loved watching her and Matt’s first look. It was so sincere! There were tears, a lot of hugs, and so many more kisses. I actually said to them after that was such a good first look. They didn’t rush, they just loved on each other, as it should be.
To Matt and Jennifer, thank you for allowing us to be a part of your amazing wedding day! It was fun…so fun! Thanks for being so down to earth and easy to laugh with! We hope you both have such a wonderful life together and you better stay in touch! #justsaying. Congratulations, you two!
With so much love,
Jake & Jennifer
