This Lesner Inn Wedding was simply perfection. John and Ally have been waiting since May to celebrate with their friends and family. Their original wedding was planned, with close to 200 guests on Mother’s Day, but like most May weddings or wedding celebrations, they had to reschedule theirs. They landed on October 18th as their new date.
We met John and Ally at their good friend’s Joe and Ashley’s wedding. I remember meeting Ally while I was working on Ashley’s detail photos. She came into the hotel room I was using and began to tell me how she was getting married soon and that she didn’t have a photographer. A few weeks later we were on the phone chatting away about her and John’s wedding. Several weeks after that, I was photographing their engagement session, which turned out absolutely stunning.
John and Ally are both amazing people. Jake told me the other day how he felt like he was photographing a famous person’s wedding. Ally was such a gorgeous bride and John was a handsome groom. They are just as sweet as they are beautiful. John has the brightest smile and I realized that day where he got it from. He got his big smile from his mother. I am not sure which of them smiles bigger.
The day of their wedding was perfect. The weather was cool but almost warm enough to be hot. The skies were beautifully blue and the air was fresh. John and Ally chose to have their pre-ceremony photos done at the new Marriott at the oceanfront. It was beautiful. When I got there all of 9 of her girls were hustling to get ready. Ally immediately brought me to all the details. I loved hearing the story behind the coin pictured below. It has been worn by many brides in their family over the years.
John and Ally’s first look was wonderful. They wanted to do it in the Sunken Garden at the Cavalier hotel which sits right across the street from the Marriott. John had the biggest smile when he turned around and saw his stunning bride. It was hugs and kisses from there on out.
After we did the bride groom first look, we did some bride groom portraits and bridal party portraits and then made our way over to the Lesner Inn.
Originally, their Mother’s Day wedding was going to be a brunch themed wedding. I love how they kept that theme for their October celebration.
The ceremony for this Lesner Inn wedding was fun. The officiant was so funny. He kept everyone laughing. John and Ally had the biggest smiles on their faces throughout. Everything else about their day was smooth sailing. I really love that about doing first looks. Getting the photos done before the ceremony causes everyone to relax and enjoy the rest of the day.
To end their beautiful day, John and Ally drove off in a boat. I jumped on with them and Jake took photos from the side. It was so sweet. Then we headed back to the oceanfront to grab a few more photos for them.
To John and Ally, thank you for allowing us the honor of photographing your wedding. It was such a joy. We will have your day forever etched into our hearts and we hope that you’ll enjoy and love these images as much as we do.
With so much love,
Jake & Jennifer
