Zach + Laken . Engaged! A Colonial Williamsburg Engagement
Zach + Laken
I’m not sure what was more exciting, getting out of the house & finally doing what I love or getting to meet this absolutely adorable couple, Zach & Laken, in gorgeous Colonial Williamsburg for their engagement session last Saturday. Let’s just claim both to be so true, since they both are! As I pulled into Colonial Williamsburg I expected the streets to be empty due to the stay-at-home order, but to my surprise they were more crowded than I’ve ever seen. I looked down the main street and there was more people than street provided all enjoying the beautiful weather that Saturday provided.
Thankfully, parking wasn’t hard to find, so I quickly make my way to our meeting spot. As I turned the corner to the location I quickly spotted Zach, Laken and their beautiful dog, Bella, all looking so perfect. We did air hand shakes and air hugs and waited on some of their family to arrive. This day was the first day both sets of parents were meeting, so not only was it special because of their engagement session, but it was a special day for their families. Laken’s twin sister, Nikki, was there with her husband & it was so great meeting her too. After everyone arrived we began walking & talking. The temperature was perfect, the air was refreshing and everything was so beautiful. We could not have asked for a more perfect day.
I learned some fun things about these two. Zach works as an Engineer Software guy. Can we say genius!? Like legit. Anyone who knows how to navigate all those codes is seriously a genius in my book. And Laken is the Assistant Cheerleading Coach for Liberty University, which is so cool! Actually, I went to Liberty for a few years and studied Christian Counseling. The exact same thing Laken is studying, except she is much farther along than I ever made it. Let’s thank photography for that. It was so fun reminiscing about the campus and the school together. At least about as much as I could remember. These two also love running and apparently love doing burpees too. Its interesting because Jake and I use to run and workout together all the time when we were engaged and into our marriage. Then kids happened. I just loved how much we have in common with these two.
I really had such a wonderful time hanging out with Zach and Laken and cannot wait for their wedding next January. Its going to be so beautiful. To Zach and Laken thank you so much for making the day so fun and for being so easy to work with. I really enjoyed getting to know you both and your sweet families. I so hope you love these photos as much as I do!
With so much love- J&J
