Watermen’s Museum Virginia Wedding Brian + Kelly
Brian + Kelly
It was our first time photographing a Watermen’s Museum Yorktown, Virginia vow renewal wedding. It was also our first time meeting Brian & Kelly in person. It’s so weird how 2020 made not meeting a couple until their wedding day the new normal for us. Before 2020 hit, we almost always met our brides in person before their wedding day.
The Wedding Day
I met Brian first at the Watermen’s Museum. He was hustling around getting everything ready for their gorgeous vow renewal ceremony that overlooked the York River. Shortly after, I headed to the hotel they were getting ready at & met Kelly. She was busy making the final touches on her makeup. Soon after Brian & Kelly’s two girls, Lily & Stella came in. They were the cutest. Stella had so much fun in front of the camera.
The entire day was beautiful from start to finish. Jake & I loved the intimate family atmosphere. Sometimes my favorite thing to do while photographing weddings is sitting back & watching in at all the joy shared. When you just quietly sit & observe, you get to see the purity of children, lots of authentic laughter, & deep love. It is my favorite thing to do while being behind the camera.
For Brian & Kelly, I loved watching the deep love they shared with each other. It started at the beginning of the day watching Brian making sure everything was perfect to rushing back to help Kelly get into her dress just after. You could also see it in the way they smiled at each other to how & the words they shared. I love that they did this vow renewal.
To Kelly & Brian, thank you so much for allowing us to celebrate this day with you both. It was a beautiful day. The memories will forever be engrained in our hearts. We hope you love some of our favorite images from your day.
With love, Jake & Jennifer Vinluan
