Wade & Jocelyn . Engaged! A Smith Lake Engagement

Wade & Jocelyn rang the door bell to our home sometime in October. Jake and I welcomed in their bright smiling faces and they took their places on our couch.  We chatted, laughed and enjoyed getting to know them.   Two hours later they were still there, but it only felt like a few minutes had passed.  They brought their absolutely gorgeous son, Landon, along with them.  Whew, I am seriously not a baby fan, but this little guy was so handsome and has the very best personality.  He joined us at their engagement session too …just melting my little heart!

So, I have to be honest because I am not good at being fake. The spot these two chose was a new spot for me.  I’ve lived in Virginia Beach my entire life and never heard of this Smith Lake.  So when I pulled up I was worried about the amount of tree coverage there was.  I prefer to shoot in areas where there is a lot of light coming in. Thankfully, when these two arrived they told me there was some more open spots further in.  We found this really cute bridge and a little dock off the lake to do most of our photos.

Landon was the perfect addition to some of their photos. He was such a ham with the biggest smile.  We got to play in the leaves for some of the photos.  I thought he might like being a part of those photos, but I don’t think he knew what was going on.  I so loved having him along for their session.  J Wade’s mom joined us too to help out with keeping him occupied when he wasn’t in the photos. I am so thankful for her being there!

It was so nice being in my first fall like session.  The temperatures were more crisp and chilly and the leaves were different colors.  This lake combined with all the trees was such a perfect backdrop full of different colors and different sites.  I always love being at newer spots because it breaks up the mundane of shooting for me. So, I am so glad they picked this spot!

To Wade & Joceyln it was so fun hanging with your sweet family this day!  Thank you for allowing me to capture these photos.  Thank you for being easy going and so easy to photograph.  Jake & I cannot wait to celebrate with you both next year!  Wishing you guys such a wonderful Holiday season and happy engagement!
