From the warm summer light to the heartfelt speeches and the incredible love surrounding them, every part of their wedding day felt intentional and meaningful.

There are wedding days that are beautiful because everything goes according to plan, and then there are wedding days that are beautiful because they remind you that joy shines through no matter what. Sean and Brenna’s wedding at Delta Hotels Virginia Beach Bayfront Suites was exactly that kind of day.

A Windy Virginia Beach Wedding Day

One thing that certainly made this wedding memorable was the wind.

Anyone who has spent time along the Virginia Beach shoreline knows that waterfront weather can be unpredictable. The day brought incredibly strong winds that made beach portraits before the ceremony nearly impossible. Rather than forcing the issue, we adjusted our timeline and waited for the conditions to improve.

Sometimes flexibility creates the best results.

Instead of battling flying hair, dresses, and winds that would have made portraits stressful, we focused on other portions of the day and patiently waited for the wind to settle. Later, when conditions improved, we were able to create beautiful bridal party portraits that captured the elegance and joy of the celebration without the distraction of the intense coastal gusts.

A Stunning Bride and Groom

Brenna was absolutely stunning.

Wearing a beautiful gown from Azazie Bridal and surrounded by her bridesmaids in soft sage green dresses, she radiated grace and excitement throughout the day. Her bridal look was timeless, elegant, and perfectly suited for a waterfront Virginia Beach wedding. Sean looked equally handsome and sharp. One of my favorite things to photograph throughout the day was the way he looked at Brenna. There was a calm confidence between them and a genuine joy in simply being together. Every interaction reflected a deep friendship and love that made photographing them effortless.

Surrounded by Family and Friends

Sean and Brenna chose to celebrate with an intimate group of approximately ninety guests. Their bridal party consisted of eight close friends and family members who stood beside them throughout the day. Brenna was supported by her Maid of Honor, Eileen, along with bridesmaids Amanda, Chelsie, and Alexis. Sean was joined by his Best Man, Brian McNulty, and groomsmen Cheyne, Clinton, and Kevin. Together they created a fun, supportive atmosphere that carried throughout the entire celebration.

The Most Meaningful Part of the Day

While the waterfront views and beautiful details made for incredible photographs, my favorite part of the wedding wasn’t visual at all.

It was the speeches.

One of the most touching moments of the evening came when Brenna’s sister-in-law shared stories about the couple’s relationship. She spoke about knowing Brenna was the one for her brother and how clear it was from the beginning that they were meant to be together. Listening to her describe their journey was incredibly sweet and gave everyone a deeper glimpse into their love story.

Brenna’s father followed with a speech that was equally memorable. His words were filled with love, pride, humor, and genuine emotion. Following the ceremony, guests gathered for an evening filled with celebration, laughter, and meaningful traditions. The reception included beautiful first dances, heartfelt toasts, a father-daughter dance, a mother-son dance, cake cutting, and a stunning champagne tower. As the evening unfolded, Sean and Brenna slipped away for sunset portraits before returning to celebrate with their guests. The night concluded with a mock send-off that perfectly wrapped up an unforgettable day.

Planning and coordination were handled by Hannah Hildebrandt Events, whose attention to detail helped the day flow seamlessly. The floral designs were created by Blushing Floral Designs and perfectly complemented the light sage green color palette chosen by the couple.

Entertainment was provided by DJ Larry D with Astro Event Company, who kept the celebration moving throughout the evening. The wedding cake was created by Coastal Bake House by Ashley Marie and served as a beautiful focal point during the reception. Brenna found her wedding gown through Azazie Bridal, while her bridesmaids wore dresses from Birdy Grey. Sean and his groomsmen looked sharp in attire from Men’s Wearhouse.
