A University of Richmond Wedding Nate + Allie
Just a day before we moved to our new house and said goodbye to our old house for the very last time, we had the privilege of photographing Nate and Allie’s Richmond University Wedding. On such a big weekend for us personally (with the move) it was so refreshing professionally to get to serve such sweet, fun-loving people like Nate & Allie and their beautiful family and friends. We’ve never had the chance to shoot at the University of Richmond before (besides and engagement session), either, so that’s always a stimulating change to find the best light and locations for us.
The real reason this wedding was awesome though. Nate & Allie are some of the kindest people we’ve ever met. Allie’s smile easily lights up a room and her kindness goes even further. We arrived on their wedding day to Nate’s beautiful Town Home, which was positioned right in the middle of a Town Center in Richmond, VA. I’ve always wanted to live right in the middle of a town center, just so we could walk everywhere we need to go. However, its not really doable with two little kids who need room to play and run-a-round, but one day…maybe! Jake went with the guys and I went to work with the girls. When I walked up the stairs, Allie was standing there with her eyes scrunched up and her cheeks out and her beautiful smile radiated from her face. Best way to be greeted on a wedding day award definitely goes to her! She was a calm, relaxed peaceful breeze. Not always the first sight I see when walking into a bridal suite. I immediately began working and she asked me if I needed anything at all. A drink? Some help? I internally was shocked at this. Wait, isn’t this my job to make sure the bride is tended to? Maybe not, really. It’s to take great photos, but I am always there if the bride needs something or to help in any way I can. This is how I can best describe Allie. She is incredibly sweet, kind, a joy to be around and a servant. Now any bride reading this please don’t think you need to tend to your photographer, but please enjoy your day as this beautiful bride did.
Nate & Allie, we’d be hard-pressed to find two people who love as much as you do. You are both kind, caring and thoughtful. You put others first and never expect anything in return. We pray this kindness will be returned to you both in so many ways and wish nothing but blessings upon you as you start your beautiful new life together.
