Just a couple Saturday’s ago we had the best opportunity to celebrate with these two sweets, Robert & Jennifer at their traditions wedding in Chesapeake, VA. These two met at a party and both share a deep deep love for animals. During their engagement session their two dogs tagged along and we even included a memorial photo with a previous dog they both loved. Robert’s personality is more laid back. He is a man of few words, but has a soft and kind heart. Jennifer is just perfect.
We met these two at a wedding show last November. Jennifer was with a friend and her adorable son. We chatted with them and I think she loved my husband’s personality and smile the most. 🙂 I got a call from her asking if we could be their wedding photographer. We were originally booked that day, but the previous clients were military and due to the military had to cancel their wedding planning. I teased that the Lord opened the day just for her.
The Saturday of their wedding was so perfect, even with the May rain and storms. And yes, the tornado warning that popped up on my phone!!! I guess for their family it was normal to get married in the middle of tornado warnings. Definitely a first for us anyways. Despite all that it was such a beautiful day. Thankfully, the venue provided a nice shelter for outside photos and you can’t even tell how bad the weather was if it wasn’t for that carpool. I so loved Jennifer’s choice of colors for the bridesmaid dresses and the groomsmen suits. Jennifer let Robert pick out the color of his suit, which is my favorite color on any guy…dark blue. Great job Robert.
Their day went so smooth from the ceremony to the reception it just had that “family” feel. Everyone had a great time and the best way I can describe their day was simple, easy and fun. I joked with Jennifer about how she was an easy bride and she laughed back, “yep, I am pretty simple!” She just wanted the basic photos. Her main focus was enjoying her day and she did just that!
Some of my favorite moments of their wedding day was watching Robert and Jennifer dance together for their first dance. I don’t know. I just loved stepping back and watching them enjoy being with each other on that dance floor. I loved watching how they exchanged love with each other. It was amazing. I also loved the speeches of their best man and maid of honor. I have said it before this is one of my favorite times during weddings because you can learn so much about someone when you hear someone close talk about the person. I loved hearing what Robert’s best man had to say about him and hearing his wife cheer from the sidelines.
We so enjoyed being a part of this wedding and so honored that we were able to celebrate these two. To Robert & Jennifer, thank you for being easy and simple and thank you for having the best fun on your day. It is forever etched in our memory!
