What a beautiful wedding at such a gorgeous Farm in Powhatan, Virginia. Where the cell service is spotty, but the land was so stunning and easily makes up for the lack of that cell service. This past Saturday we had the honor of photographing Nick & Kelsey’s wedding at the Fairview Farm in Northern Virginia. I met this beautiful couple through my youngest cousin, Donnie. Last year I got to spend an evening with them at Yorktown Beach and I easily fell in love. Kelsey has such a sweet demeanor, but I also love her organized and planner edge. She had everything thought out so well for her big day. The colors were thought out so well and everything was so perfect. I even love that she made sure we had a place to hide away if we needed to. It is amazing when a bride puts so much thought into every aspect of her wedding day. I also love her simple beauty. She is absolutely stunning. And Nick! He is so perfect for her in every single way. He is kind and fun and serves in our military. Thank you for that! 🙂 These two have actually lived a part for a while. Nick in Cali and Kelsey here in Virginia and right now I am so supa jealous because they are enjoying a honeymoon in Hawaii. Lucky them! 🙂
Despite the especially hot May day everything was so beautiful and I loved the small family and close friend feel of their wedding and it was such a joy to be with these two celebrating. Their family and friends were so present in helping put everything together and making sure each piece was in its place. Kelsey was a gorgeous bride and Nick was such a handsome groom. The day started with Kelsey giving me a tour of the beautiful venue and showing me all that it had to offer. Then I met a few of her bridesmaids and asked Melani for help organizing the dresses. Thank you, Melani. All her details were stunning and I loved the gorgeous blue shoes from her mother in law. What a great pop! After all the pre-ceremony photos we went right into the daddy daughter first look. The first words Kelsey’s dad said to me was how he might loose it when he sees his daughter. Both of them had tears in their eyes and it was such a special moment. I can imagine Jake will be the very same way. After Kelsey requested a special prayer time with Nick. Tears filled her eyes as she realized the new beginning they were starting this day and thanked God for bringing them together. Next it was ceremony time, which was under a gorgeous barn-like area. The set-up was perfect. I loved the doors that led down the aisle. My favorite part of the ceremony was the cord tying they did and the moments Kelsey got choked up as she recited her vows to Nick.
After all the formal photos was the reception. The temperatures were cooling down and all the stress of the day faded away. Now it was time to have fun. The speeches, the dancing, the games on the farm lawn…it was all so very perfect and I enjoyed watching it all. I loved that Kelsey’s dad put together a special video during their daddy daughter dance.
To Nick & Kelsey, thank you for allowing us to be a part of this day. It was so beautiful! We hope you enjoy some of our favorite photos to relive your day. Wishing you both so much joy and happiness! <3
