Pete + Alexise . Married A Backyard Quarantine Sandbridge Wedding
Pete + Alexise
It’s not often a wedding is planned in the middle of a Quarantine, but for Pete & Alexise it was. Then again how often are we actually quarantined in this life? These two didn’t let the big “Coronavirus” of 2020 stop them from celebrating one of the best days of their lives. Their wedding may not have looked like they originally envisioned and was much shorter than we normally do, but the joy & love that flooded their cute Sandbridge home in Virginia Beach, Virginia that day was just as beautiful as any other wedding we’ve been to and our hearts were bursting just the same.
As Virginia wedding photographer’s, we met Alexise last fall at a wedding show in Virginia Beach. The minute we met her Jake and I were immediately in love. Full of joy and so positive, she shared her vision of her boat wedding with Pete, a Charter Boat fisherman, with such anticipation. She didn’t know then that her dream wedding would look much different than she imagined. As the weeks came closer to their wedding she held out in faith that it would happen the way she originally planned and hoped for with all her friends and family there with them, but sometime mid-April I got a call from her where she began re-envisioning her boat wedding to a much smaller backyard wedding; still positive and full of anticipation.
Jake and I pulled up to their cute little beach home in Sandbridge. The sun was hot, the air was fresh and everything looked so perfect. Chelsea with Eventfully Chelsea Events did a phenomenal job turning their home into a temporary wedding venue. Actually, she did a great job pulling so many things together. With the shut down of hair and makeup salons, Chelsea stepped in and met that need for Alexise too. Such a big big shout-out to her and her team. She was there every step of the way making sure Pete and Alexise’s day was nothing short of perfect and beautiful.
Alexise looked stunning. Her personality is so fun. She really is a joy to be around. Pete looked perfectly handsome. What I love most about this couple is how well they fit together. They really are a perfect match. They are so goofy and don’t allow life’s hiccups to mess with their vibe. Following their lives on facebook is always fun. Even on a bad day a funny photo from them just brightens my day. Their four children are just as amazing. They are so respectful, easy to talk to, and full of great personalities.
A couple of my favorite moments from their day, was watching Alexise so happy. That just made my heart leap big. I also loved watching them just be goofy together with the family that was there. And I really loved the wedding parade they had. Cars, fire trucks and campers full of their friends who couldn’t attend drove by honking their horns and throwing cards to celebrate them. I loved watching them light up with so much joy and I loved being a part of such a special moment. It was like time stopped for me and I remembered how blessed Jake and I are to be a part of such amazing days and memories for people. We really wouldn’t have wanted to be anywhere else on that Friday.
To the friends and distant family who couldn’t be there that day, we so hope these photos help you imagine what this day was like. It was bright, fun, full of so much joy and love.
To Pete, Alexise and your beautiful children we love and adore you all. Words cannot express how fun you guys are and how honored we got to be there to celebrate with you all. We hope our friendship goes beyond this day and we build a lasting tie together. Screaming a million congrats to you all! We love you dearly!
