Alex + Chelsea . Married A Mount Ida Wedding

Now that it is 2018, Jake recently asked me what my favorite wedding of 2017 was and of course Alex & Chelsea’s stunning Mount Ida wedding in Charlottesville, Virginia was listed in the top three weddings of the year.  We’d never photographed a wedding in the gorgeous hillside of Charlottesville, VA until their day.  Everything I imagined it would be, it was and so much more.  The location, the view, the venue, the bride, the decor were all a dream.  From the perfectly decorated barn to the floral arrangements to the fur coats the girls wore-everything! You could not have asked for a sweeter couple, either!  Chelsea has the sweetest disposition and Alex is the perfect gentleman.  They both match so perfectly and all their friends easily said the same thing.  You can tell their love for each of is incredibly pure.  I cannot wait to see them in 10 years.

During their bride groom photos Chelsea turned to me and said she wanted her wedding to have a Christmas Hallmark movie feel and for her to look like the Christmas Barbie.  She definitely pulled that off so well.  Her day definitely felt like the Christmas Hallmark movie with the fireplace burning in the background of their ceremony and the hanging lights throughout the barn.  Traditionally brides like to have natural light bride groom photos, but they were purposeful on getting their photos in the romantic feel of the dark night.  I have to say it was pretty cold.  The coldest weather we have ever photographed in.  My hands felt so frozen, but it was so worth the gorgeous night photos we got of these two together.

Something I remember telling Jake the other day about their wedding was that I didn’t feel like I was working.  I felt like I was with friends.  When our contracted time was up I was shocked because I wanted to stay and hangout with them more and we did a little before we hit the road.  These guys also had an awesome donut food truck which is pictured below.  They spent part of their honeymoon at Disney one of their favorite places to be!
