When Aric & Lissette sat on our couch to go over their wedding a couple weeks ago, Lissette was super sure that she didn’t want all the extra stuff in wedding photography.  She just wanted the most important things… capturing her with her girls and her with Aric and them all having fun on the dance floor.  She wanted her wedding to be about having fun and not a whole lot of photos.  So, as you scroll through the photos of their wedding don’t expect all the extra stuff you see in our normal blogs, but expect a perfect representation of how the bride wanted it …in every way.

Friday was so rainy! So!  As we headed to the Norfolk Main in Downtown Norfolk there was so much traffic.  We usually leave extra early and we just made it in time due to the heavy traffic because of the rain.  When Jake & I arrived at the Main we were greeted by Aric and his groomsmen.  Aric is soft spoken and kind…a true gentleman. They were all in gorgeous blue (my favorite) suits and ready to get started on their groomsmen photos with Jake. I quickly headed up to the suite where Lissette and all her girls were at.  Lissette was so full of joy despite the rain and despite the fact that her dress was in the wrong location sabotaging all our morning plans.  It made my heart so happy seeing Lissette not worried about the small mishap, but instead of the things we had originally planned, we rolled with it and did a few fun “other” shots.  And Victoria with Makeup By Victoria did such a stella job on Lissette’s hair and makeup. It was so nice to squeeze a hug in from her.  J After our fun shots we all packed up and headed over to Dam Neck Shifting Sands on the Virginia Beach Military Base.

We photographed the ceremony and hearing Aric & Lissette’s love story so beautifully told by their uncle was wonderful.  My two favorite moments during their ceremony was hearing their grandmother read 1 Corinthians 13, the chapter in the Bible on love.  That is one of my absolute chapters because it always challenges me to love better in my own life.  I also loved their bubble exit.  I am so glad I suggested it because it came out so perfect.

Thankfully, I found a little overhang area for us to do their bridal party photos and bride groom photos.  With all the rain it was the best option.  And you guys have to know the reception was just what they planned for it to be…dancing and fun!  These guys owned the dance floor.  I loved watching them have so much fun.

Aric & Lissette love working out, cooking and eating together! I mean who doesn’t love to eat! Lissette loves how family centered Aric is.  I can definitely see that.  Him, his sister, and his mom seem so close.  I had the wonderful opportunity to talk with Judy, Aric’s mom, on the phone and she has to be one of our favorite mother’s at any wedding.  So personalable and bright! And so warm!  The entire family seems warm.  Aric absolutely loves Lissette’s creativity.  And I too was amazed.  She made most of the decorations at the wedding.  I told her she needed to start an online business and make a killing.  The wedding arch was gorgeous.

I’d definitely have to say this wedding was perfect. Mostly, because they weren’t stressed one bit.  They smiled, laughed, and celebrated.  You really can’t ask for any more.  So blessed that we got to be a part of their wedding day.  Stay tuned for another bride groom session I am doing with them in a week.  You are gonna just love the photos, I know it!
