Alan + Brittany . Married! An Aviation Museum Wedding
I gave Jake his very first wedding day blog writing assignment. Of course, I added in too. But I hope you enjoy!
It’s not often that you get to hear how the fairy tale got to the point of becoming a reality with the final words between the the two: I do. Brenda, the officiant did a phenomenal job telling this beautiful couples love story. I felt like I was literally in a story book reading the pages of a romance novel. Right after the ceremony I walked up to Brenda and commended her on her incredible way of sharing Alan & Brittany’s love story. Brenda mentored Brittany when she was younger and shared just what she was like as a young child. Brittany’s love for flight was truly apparent and it seemed God flew her heart in the right direction. The school in Florida that Brittany was lead to had a high calling in dealing with flight. It was truly apparent that her heart had a wing on it from a very young age.
Brenda then shared the story of Alan. His love for flight started also at a young age . He wanted to fly and he actually got his pilot’s license before his drivers license! What!!! How cool is that? His smile stretched from ear to ear the whole day and his love showed deep for Brittany. When he closed his eyes I’m sure he was on cloud nine and the better part was when he opened them and realized his co pilot was there. His heart also had one wing on it. Both wings were knitted together making the perfect plane of love!
As the two exchanged their heart written vows the two would be each other’s co pilots for the rest of their lives. They chose the Aviation Museum in Virginia Beach. I don’t say this a lot but quite frankly the detail of the site matched the couple to the “T”. This wedding was well thought from the center pieces to the amazing cupcake tower. Even the guest gifts were little airplane chocolates.
The day was rainy which didn’t make us stop a beat. It just kept us much closer to the indoor planes, but these two did not mind a bit. It was seriously a joy to share this day with these two. The day was perfect all the way around and I (Jennifer, writing now) truly appreciated Brittany’s care and love for the wedding day photographs. Thank you! It makes me love my job so much more when a bride cares as much as I do about great photos. I especially loved watching Brittany and her dad, Bob’s, first dance. They danced to two songs and goodness Bob’s love for his daughter flooded the dance floor. I want to give a huge shoutout to Sterling Myers for her incredible job as the wedding coordinator. She was always two steps ahead of us and even took great care and helping with anything we needed. Thank you! You did a tremendous job. Also, so many thanks to Brittany’s bridal party you were such a joy to spend time with! Thank you for having fun and laughing so much! <3 Finally, congratulations to Alan & Brittany. I hope you two stay in touch and we cannot wait to see all the little Wakeman babies running around. Maybe they’ll get your height, Alan and you wont be the tallest guy around. Blessings to you both!
