This Woman’s Club of Portsmouth Virginia Wedding was a great kick-off to wedding season. We couldn’t have asked for a better bride & groom to kick it off with. David & Madi were so easy & laid back & their day was so smooth & literally perfect.

David + Madi

Really I consider it a treasure that I got to be a part of this wedding & watch David & Madi get married. While not super close, I did interact with David & Madi as they grew up through different stages of their lives through friendship with their parents or church life. So to be a part of this day was special & really crazy to see how time flies so quickly. You blink & children you once knew (as children) are now getting married. Eeek! Time truly waits for no one; it just keeps going.

David grew up in Rocky Mount, Virginia, where I attended Bible College years ago. Him & Madi began their relationship in the same Bible College when Madi was able to go.

Beautiful Design & Colors

I loved the gorgeous light, neutral & airy colors Madi chose for her wedding colors. Even her neutral wood flowered bouquet was gorgeously done. I kept telling her, “I wish I could get married again so I could replicate your design!” It was so beautiful.

That Arch

Her dad, Pravash, did an awesome job with their arch backdrop for the ceremony. He made the gorgeous arch by hand for only $32. Talk about handy man. It was breathtaking & goes to show you can have a gorgeous & affordable wedding if you know a good handyman.

Dad’s Wisdom

These two really are so perfect for each other & I loved hearing the story that Madi’s dad encouraged them to wait a year to be sure they really wanted to get married. Often, you see young “puppy love” happens while at college when emotions are high & sometimes those relationships don’t last the test of time. Pravash’s advise was wise! Jake mentioned he wanted to do that one day with our kids.

My Favorite

I love to share my favorite part of a wedding day, but I am not sure I have an absolute favorite because I truly enjoyed everything from start to finish. From the beautiful weather, to the venue, to the people, to see old friends, to the warm love threaded through every moment, to the beautiful design & gorgeous ceremony, to the speeches, to working with the videographer, to the fun on the dance floor, & to the good-byes. Every single moment was perfect & all my favorite.
