This Moca Virginia Beach wedding was beautiful. Jacob & Alexis are a perfect match. Jake & I loved getting to photograph their wedding, meet their beautiful family, & get to know each better of them a little more.

How They Met

Jacob is a pilot for Frontier airlines. I thought that was the coolest thing ever. Flying planes has always fascinated me & I got to ask him if planes do fly themselves. “They do everything but take-off,” he said. Alexis & Jacob met at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. I loved hearing the story of how they met as I was photographing her wedding detail photos on the front porch. They are both moving down to Florida after their honeymoon.

My Favorite

What I loved most about these two was their pure love for each other & that their mutual faith in God was apparent & evident throughout the entire wedding day. If you weren’t sure they were Christians you were sure by the end. It was refreshing to see a young couple build their relationship on a Christian foundation.

I loved seeing the bond both of them had with their families. Alexis’ dad let me know how close their family is. You could see it no doubt! Alexis’s mom, Wendy, shared so many beautiful moments with her daughter pre-ceremony. I was so blessed to be able to capture a few of those sweet moments.

My favorite part of their wedding day was Jacob & Alexis’ first look. I loved seeing these two as they were together. Alexis shared on the front porch that the reason she fell in love with Jacob was that he made her laugh often. She did just that during their first look. He handed her a letter with some special words on it. She opened it and two seconds later (no joke) she shut it. I was like what. He asked her if she’d finished reading it & she said, “yes!” He said, “already!” She laughed and said, “yes, it was only a few words.” He then pulled another out & said oh, I wrote you another one. I burst out laughing along with her. Just watching them alone together was truly a treat.
