What started as a friendship blossomed into a beautiful relationship that has thrived since 2016. Their love for travel, beach days, and motorcycle rides brought them closer, and I could feel that adventurous spirit throughout their wedding day.
An Adventurous Proposal
Troy’s proposal was as picturesque as it gets. On a vacation in Arizona—a spot they both adore—Troy decided to pop the question during a motorcycle ride to Canyon Lake. Stopping for photos at a scenic overlook, he got down on one knee, creating a perfect moment surrounded by stunning views. They celebrated afterward with a serene boat ride through the canyons, making it an unforgettable day.
Wedding Details
The wedding day was beautifully decorated in terracotta, agave, eucalyptus, champagne, and desert rose—colors that spoke to their love for the beach and the desert. With roots in Virginia and ties to Arizona, they wanted their wedding to reflect their journey and shared passions. Fly Away Lodge, an old duck lodge with deep family ties (the founder shares Troy’s last name!), offered the perfect setting. The owners’ warmth and the venue’s charm made it feel like home.

One of my favorite aspects of Troy and Casey’s wedding was the delightful personal touches that made it uniquely theirs. From including their three adorable dogs in the festivities to a bounce house for guests to enjoy, every detail was thoughtful. The cocktail hour featured a fantastic nacho table and a Mexican buffet line that satisfied everyone. And let’s not forget the chocolate chip cookie wedding cake—a sweet touch that perfectly reflected their fun-loving personalities.
Casey’s cowgirl boots were the icing on the cake, adding a charming touch to her stunning look and celebrating their adventurous spirit.
