An Eastern Shore Wedding

This Eastern Shore Wedding was breathtaking.  As Eastern Shore Wedding Photographers we get to go to a lot of beautiful venues, but this gorgeous beach house on the Eastern Shore owned by Alexandra’s parents was truly a dream place to shoot.  This beach home sat right on the beach and overlooked the Chesapeake Bay on the side where sunsets are magical.It was full of big windows that let in all the perfect light from every direction.  The walls were shiplap and everything inside was light or neutral colored.  For every photographer who loves light and airy this house was easy to make that happen.  I have dreamed of designing a wedding venue pretty close to the inside of this house, one day.

The Moment I Met The Bride

This Saturday was the first time I actually got to meet Jeff and Alexandra in person.  I entered the house from the first floor as vendors were busy getting things set up for all the guests. I made my way up to the second floor where I met Alexandra’s dad and brother.  Next, I made my way up to meet Alexandra.I remember the moment I saw her in her pure white wedding dress, beautiful blonde slightly curled hair, and big bright smile.  She was a breathtaking bride.  Her dress fit perfectly with this intimate beach house wedding.  I made sure to tell her that. I quickly got started on the few details she had for me.

The First Look With The Groom

Jeff arrived for his first look with Alexandra.  He wore white pants and a navy blue jacket which complimented this beach house wedding too.  I introduced myself, shook his hand, and filled him in on all the first look details.  He had such a kind smile.  Alexandra wanted her first look with him right out front of the house with her mom, her sister, and Jeff’s mom watching from the balcony. I got Jeff positioned and Alex came out of the front door.  Jeff’s eyes were filled with tears as he turned around.  It was the sweetest.  At the reception Alex’s sister talked about how well Jeff treats Alexandra.  It was easy to see his love for her throughout the day.

The Lighthouse

A few houses down there was a small lighthouse.  If my memory serves me correct, I believe Alexandra’s grandparents use to own it.  The bride-groom photos were just the perfect touch to pull all the photos together to create a gorgeously inspired beach house wedding.   After we finished up the bride groom photos we headed back for a laughter filled reception.

The Reception

At the reception Alexandra’s sister and Jeff’s best man gave some of the greatest speeches to describe them.  Alex’s sister talked about her personality, which I would describe as driven, knows what she wants without backing down, kind and loving.  Jeff’s best man described him exactly how I saw him as he interacted with Alex and those around him.  A good man all around.  His mom did a beautiful job raising him.

My Thoughts

I truly loved the family feel, the joy that filled the celebration of these two getting married, and laid back feel of being there.  Alexandra’s dad paused the reception as they waited on the main dish to invite everyone back out to the beach to watch the beautiful sunset from their private beach.  It’s rare to see a sunset living on the East Coast.  It was such a gorgeous sunset that night  and it was such a joy being a part of Jeff and Alexandra’s day.
