This James River Country Club Wedding that met all my winter wedding dreams. Despite the bitter day, this wedding was beautiful in so many ways, and Jake and I wouldn’t have wanted to be in any other place.

Couples that are Easy to Fall In Love With

I don’t know about you, but sometimes you fall in love with certain people easily. Maybe they don’t necessarily feel the same way about you, but you love who they are. As wedding photographers in Virginia, we get to meet a lot of amazing couples. Zach and Laken were one of those couples that made falling in love with them so easy to do. It was probably that parts of their story were so similar to Jake & mine. Or maybe it’s Laken’s deep love for Jesus which made me excited to know her. These days that comes rare, in my opinion.

The First Kiss

Zach & Laken waited to share their first kiss at the altar on their wedding day, and before all you readers stop in shock, it’s not that difficult to do. Really! There is so much purity that comes along with it. Jake & I did the same thing. It was refreshing to meet a couple that was similar to us in this way.

The Limo Ride

Zach & Laken’s day was so peaceful, wonderful, and enjoyable to be a part. As a bride & a person, I watched & marveled at her patience with things outside of her control all day. I loved the moment in the limo to talking with Laken about the church and God. If you know me and spend moments talking to me beyond wedding photography, you’ll quickly learn that my passion is those two things, Jesus and His Church. It was the first time I’ve ever been able to talk with a bride who is also passionate about these things, and I loved it!

The James River Country Club

The James River Country Club was a beautiful location for this wedding. Despite Covid & the Covid restrictions, Zach & Laken were blessed to have their wedding at full scale. The day was beautiful from start to finish & God’s hand is definitely on this couple. I cannot wait to see their journey together unfold.
