East Beach Hampton Roads Engagement Session | Aiden & Emily

There’s something magical about the coast, and East Beach in Hampton Roads was the perfect setting for Aiden and Emily’s engagement session. With the golden sun shining down, the soft breeze off the water, and their two playful pups tagging along, this session was nothing short of perfect.

From the moment we started, Aiden and Emily were naturals. They posed with ease and were natural pros in front of the camera. Their joy and connection made my job so effortless—it’s every wedding photographer’s dream when a couple is this comfortable and genuine together.

A Perfect Day at East Beach

The weather couldn’t have been more perfect. Clear skies, glowing light, and that unmistakable Hampton Roads charm created a dreamy backdrop. The beach gave us wide-open views, soft sand, and room for the dogs to explore after their photos. Every moment felt warm, lighthearted, and full of love.

Bringing Dogs to Your Engagement Session

One of the best parts of this session was having Aiden and Emily’s two dogs along for the ride. Pets bring so much personality (and sometimes a little chaos!) to photos, but they make the experience so personal and memorable.

Here are a few tips and tricks for bringing your dogs to an engagement session:

  • Bring a helper. Having a friend or family member to hold the leash in between shots is a lifesaver.
  • Pack the essentials. Water, treats, and waste bags keep everyone comfortable and stress-free.
  • Exercise beforehand. A quick walk or run before the session helps get the energy out so your pup is calmer in photos.
  • Choose the right location. Beaches, parks, or open spaces work best for dogs to feel relaxed and natural.
  • Be flexible. Sometimes the dogs will steal the show—and that’s okay! Those candid moments often turn into the sweetest memories.

FAQs About Engagement Sessions with Dogs

Q: Should I include my dog in all of the photos?
Not necessarily. Most couples choose a mix—some photos with their dogs and some without. This way you get variety and a few timeless, pet-free portraits.

Q: What if my dog doesn’t behave well?
That’s totally normal! We work with their personality, capturing fun candid moments. Having a helper and some treats makes all the difference.

Q: Can dogs really make engagement photos better?
Absolutely. They bring authenticity and joy to your story. If your dog is part of your life together, including them in your engagement photos just makes sense.

Thank You, Aiden & Emily

Aiden and Emily, thank you for trusting me to capture your East Beach engagement session.
