Family Formals Resources for our Bride's

So your wedding day is getting close and it is time for you to prepare your family portrait list and now you are wondering where to start!  We’ve got you!   We decided to create a collection of helpful resources for our Vinluan Photography brides here on our website and I will be working to get them all up in the next few weeks.  So for this week we are writing our Sample List for Family Formal Photos for you to easily access.

SAMPLE LIST FOR FAMILY FORMALS

We love meeting our couple’s families on their wedding day!  Family formals are normally our first interaction with them and so we feel it is important to have names to call your family members, which is why we ask  you to provide us a list ahead of time!  From our experience having a list causes this time to flow much smoother than without.  It also removes any room for the Bride or Groom to forget important family members on their day.  Trust me it has happened and we don’t want it to happen to you. So, at some point before your wedding, you’ll receive a questionnaire from us that will ask you to list the family formals you want us to capture.  Here is a sample family formal list to help you start preparing what shots you need.  We encourage brides to use first names in this list.  To keep things smooth, Jake stands by and calls out the names of the family members.  The sample list is as follows:

B&G with Bride’s Immediate Family

(Parents, Siblings, Grandparents, Nieces, Nephews)

B&G with Bride’s Parents

B&G with Bride’s Siblings

Bride with her Parents

Bride with Mom

Bride with Dad

B&G with Bride’s Grandparents

B&G with both sets of Parents

B&G with Groom’s Immediate Family

(Parents, Siblings, Grandparents, Nieces, Nephews)

This is a sample list which can be lengthened or shortened.  There is no absolute to this list.  We say that each group takes about 1-2 minutes, so hopefully that will help you calculate how much time you need for family formal portraits.
