Burlington Virginia Wedding Kenneth + Jennifer
Burlington Weddings & Events
This Burlington Virginia Wedding in Charles City, Virginia, was a dream to be a part of. Kenneth & Jennifer are two very amazing humans. Jake & I didn’t meet either of them until their wedding day & it was definitely worth the wait. Although, when I found out they were local to Virginia Beach, I was a little sad we didn’t get to meet them sooner.
The Groom Hired Us
Ken handled all the wedding photography communication. I’ll never forget the times I talked with him on the phone. His attention to detail & interest in photography was awesome. It’s not often we get grooms who are interested in this part of their wedding (or maybe the wedding details at all), but Ken was & it was really cool.
Arrive the Day Before
Jake & I drove up to the area the day before to get the photo-booth set up to ensure we weren’t rushing for the early morning wedding day ahead of us. It’s been a long time since we’ve photographed a 12 hour wedding day, so we wanted to be prepared.
Mindset Shift
I decided to leave my detail styling kit behind since I’d be there in the morning. Thinking it would lessen the load a little, but the next day when I arrived the area was locked solid. I panicked for a few seconds, but figured there was nothing I could do but decide to make the best of the situation & that is what I did! Quickly, I found items around the cottage to help impromptu. I’m so glad I didn’t allow my mood to get messed with because I am pretty proud of Jen’s detail photos (considering I couldn’t get to my supplies)! Woot!
Jennifer – I love that name!
I met Jen the day of the wedding. You know how when meet someone for the first time you imagine what they might look like. When I say I had no communication with her prior to their wedding day – I mean none! Not an email, not a text, & not a call. I actually greeted someone totally different thinking it was her. She was getting her makeup done & looking absolutely stunning. Working with her & her girls all day was truly a pleasure on so many levels.
Hearing all the speeches given about her made me wish I met her sooner. She is a very accomplished person. with her degree in psychology in the Navy, to top in her field whose received awards, a runner, a lover of reading to so many other things. It was a joy to learn more about her!
Kenneth – The Groom
Then there was Ken. I talked to him on the phone & imagined so many times what he might look like. It was a joy to meet him. He was tall & kind & loved photography – so I loved him too! Lol. He definitely had some photography goals for his day & I loved every bit of it. Ken is an architect which I think is so cool. That is what I wanted to be when I was growing up! I forgot to tell you that Ken!
Crazy I went to college for counseling – hey this couple is living all my younger year goals! Probably why I like them so much!
We had an amazing day! It really was fun getting to know these two & their families. Truly! Truly! Truly! I loved every minute of it so much!
