Lincoln Memorial Washington DC Engagement Ben + Apearre
Dream Come True
This Lincoln Memorial Washington DC engagement was a literal dream come true. Ben & Apearre were a huge joy to photograph in so many ways.
How We Met
My sweet friend Brianna had this adorable room-mate she had on a ship they both worked on was getting married. Brianna so kindly introduced us to her. Apearre & I chatted on the phone & she was just so perfect. She announced that she wanted to have her engagement session in Washington D.C. Say what, “Washington D.C.?” Are you serious????? Yes, yes, yes!!! It’s been like forever that I’ve dreamed of driving to D.C. to photograph an engagement session & let me tell you it was well worth the wait.
D.C. Day
My great friend Angela & I drove up to D.C. early the morning of the shoot. I mean if you’re going to D.C. you might as well make the day of it. We stopped at Tyson’s Corner for a little shopping. I wasn’t too impressed there! Then we headed to the White House. Sadly, the view was blocked. We did get a little peak though. The next hour we were stuck trying to find street parking that wouldnt get us towed. That was a nightmare.
I met Apearre at the bottom steps of the Lincoln Memorial & soon after, Ben came walking up! Apearre let me know she was feeling a little nervous. I assured her that in about 5-10 minutes she’d be completely relaxed. She was! The whole session was so fun. Even when Apearre stepped in dog poo! We all laughed because she announced 5 minutes before that she was surprised that she hadn’t stepped in dog poo yet! The humor of it was great!
These two are getting married next year in Lynchburg, Virginia which I am so excited about. I went to college in Lynchburg a lot of years ago & its so beautiful!
Thank You!
To Ben & Apearre, thank you, thank you, thank you for choosing me to photograph your stunning Lincoln Memorial Washington D.C. engagement session. What a dream come true! I am so excited to journey this relationship with you both!
With Love,
Jake & Jen
