Scott and Carol are married!!! They celebrated their big day on the Langley Air Force base in Hampton Roads, Virginia.  The day was rainy, windy, and cold, but Scott and Carol were true super stars and endured the rain, the wind and that cold for some awesome photos.  The day started off at the Oyster Point Marriott in Newport News.  This gave a beautiful back drop for their first look and a nice over hang to take bridal party photos.

Scott is a pilot for the Air Force and Carol is a nurse on planes.  I got to spend a short amount of time with these two on Thursday for their engagement session at First Landing State park.  I cannot wait to share those photos in a few days.  Carol’s beautiful dress and look was themed from her love for Princess Kate.  I think she could almost pass as a twin or sister and she did a great job putting together a beautiful look. Her bridesmaid, Jenny, and her use to follow Princess Kate obsessively.

One of my favorite moments of the day was having Carol’s grandma, Baba,  around.  I would have dreamed to have my sweet grandmother at my wedding; she passed away just months before Jake and I got married.  It is always so special to me when a grandmother is nearby and gets to participate during the bride’s getting ready time because it reminds me of my grandmother and how much I wish I would have had her present on our day.  It is so important to treat your grandmother with kindness no matter how stressed you are.  Grandmothers are such great gifts to us.  Hold them close and treat them with the greatest love of all!

Super awesome shout out to Jenny, Carol’s bridesmaid for rocking some incredibly beautiful makeup!!! And to Katie, Carol’s sister, for giving up her shoes.  I hope we all look back on this beautiful day and laugh at the mishaps and remember it is really about the love two people share.
