This absolutely beautiful couple was married June 30th at the gorgeous Hermitage Museum in Norfolk, Virginia. The day could have not been any more perfect. I came in and was immediately greeted by Clair’s best sister, Alex! 😉 The first thing she said to me is, “I feel like I already know you because I follow you on Instagram!” Uh, heart melt you are now my new bestie! <3 Then I met Clair’s amazing mother, Ms. Kathy. I immediately felt comfortable. And if these two weren’t already the sweetest, Dana, with Day of Details, made everything so smooth. She was incredible and an absolute superstar.
I had the very best time with the girls (Alex, Kaitlyn, Katie, Dani, and Tiffany) doing the bridal party slumber party photos. We laughed at Dani’s persistent bra that just had to be in all the photos and Alex’s urge to wiggle her toes…that one is an inside joke not appropriate for blogs…or at least my blog! 😉 It was so fun and I don’t think I have ever laughed so hard with a bunch of girls on a wedding day! I literally put my camera down for a second to catch my breath!
Some of my most favorite moments of Brandon and Clair’s day, besides just watching them interact together was Clair’s father daughter first look. Clair’s dad was full of tears as he read his daughter’s card to him and when he saw her for the first time. It was so sweet. And seeing Clair’s mom, Ms. Kathy’s love for her daughter was so priceless. <3 But my most favorite moment was Brandon and Clair’s First Look. I know a lot of people like to go the traditional route, but there are so many beautiful and intimate things that come out of a bride groom first look. Just watching them enjoying the moment and being able to react and respond the way they wanted without 100’s of people watching was so perfect. Brandon was crying before he even turned around. #dream Jake caught the tears to prove it. And just watching them adore each other and whisper sweet words to each other taking their time was amazing. You don’t get that moment that way when you do it the traditional way and that is why I love First Looks. Brandon even said he was so glad he did it.
Then there were other moments that I loved. Clair’s dad, Von’s, speech. He reminisced on a specific memory when Clair was a little girl. Her shoes got wet and he made it a point to drive home and get her some new ones to bring to her at school. It was so incredible. As a mother it touched my heart so deeply. I loved watching Ms. Kathy and her sister on the dance floor, and all Clair’s friends being silly together. I loved chatting with some of the guests throughout the night. It really was a perfect night.
To Brandon and Clair, thank you for entrusting us! Your wedding is forever engraved in our hearts. We wish you the best life and the greatest happiness. You two were dreams and we are so thankful we could be a part. We love you both! <3
